Clinical Approach

Our therapeutic approach is uniquely tailored for each woman. We intersect a psychodynamic exploration of the history and root of the symptoms of distress while simultaneously equipping women with concrete coping tools and tangible strategies to apply in the here and now.

Our clinical focus encompasses evidenced-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Attachment Science frameworks. We integrate an important understanding of a woman’s unique biology, neurochemistry and sensory processing, as well as her interpersonal neurobiology in relationship with others.

We strongly value cultivating a safe, inclusive, respectful and culturally competent therapeutic space in which all female-identified individuals are welcomed, embraced and supported.

Services Offered

  • We offer virtual teletherapy services to meet women exactly where they are in the comfort and security of their own space and home.

At the onset of treatment we will conceptualize and develop a treatment plan that feels right for you. We recommend beginning with a weekly therapeutic rhythm and can adjust the cadence as your treatment needs evolve.

  • The birth of motherhood is magical and profoundly trying at the same time. Navigating motherhood through the lens of the NICU can feel like a different world, entirely. For most parents, they never envisioned welcoming their child into the world followed by an abrupt and unanticipated separation and need for medical support to keep their baby safe.

We offer a blend of educational sessions, as well as supportive therapy, to prepare you for what to expect in the NICU setting, how to communicate with the Neonatology Team, coping tools to regulate the environmental and physical sensory overload, somatic grounding techniques to soothe anxiety or posttraumatic stress, bonding strategies to enhance parent-child attachment, and anticipatory coping mechanisms to support you and your baby’s transition home.

  • Similar to how parents spend time curating a physical baby registry or attending birthing and newborn classes, we’re here to proactively design an emotional registry to equip you with coping tools, psychoeducation, and support to adequately anticipate and navigate any potential challenges in the perinatal period.

We will also connect you to appropriate perinatal resources, including Reproductive Psychiatrists, Doulas and Postpartum Doulas, Sleep Consultants, Pelvic Floor Therapists, Lactation Consultants and Occupational Therapists.
